ABOUT THE COMMUNITY:

The population of Melville is 4900 persons.  It is located at Hwy's 10, 15 and 47 and offers residents all the amenities.  It is the main railroad terminal for the CNR (Canadian National Rail).  Good mixed farming area.  New Hospital scheduled to be built in 2002.  Home of the Melville Millionaire's Hockey Club.  $256,000 upgrade to the regional park was recently announced.  Oil exploration in area.  Local manufacturing, Babcock Wilcox, expanded, increasing capacity of steam generating boilers, formerly done in the U.S.

Recreation includes golf, curling, all winter sports, and hunting/fishing in nearby Crooked Lake Provincial Park.
