TRAINING

City Public Works or Applicators

Training is provided over a three-day period with a minimum order of two 30 lb. containers of RE-NEW Crystals or 30 - 50lb premix bags . Two weeks notice is required for training, which will be arranged after delivery of the products.

Training is performed on site which includes a minimum of:

  • 10 trip hazards
  • 10 feet of (snow plow) broken curbs
  • 300 sq.ft. of spalled sidewalk resurfacing

More coverage can be accomplished depending on the number of personnel and the concrete application experience of the crew.

First Day

  • Assure all materials are on site (cement, silica sand)
  • Choice of Portland cement type 10 or 30
  • Locate and evaluate repair areas
  • Basic Training coverage, etc.

Second Day

  • Onsite training, mixing RE-NEW Crystals
  • Mixing Silica sand and cement, surface preparation
  • training and repairing broken curbs
  • eliminating trip hazards

Third Day

  • Onsite training, mixing special mix for the repair of sidewalk spalled surfaces
  • Cutting expansion joint, broom finishing, and edging.

Mixture using Crystals only apply. (Mix on site)

One bag of 88 lb. of Portland cement with two 100 lb. bags of silica sand (one 20/30 and one 40/60) mixed with RE-NEW Crystals (add to the load) will cover an average of 250 to 400 sq.ft. depending on the surface condition. This is referred to as one load or one batch.

Three men crew, mixing eight batches should cover an average of 2000 sq.ft. of spalled sidewalk surface in an eight-hour shift. (24 man hours of work)

High-Early Set Type 30
1 22.5 Kg bag covers 22 sqft at a 1/4inch thick.

All mixing ratios and types of applications are in the RE-NEW Manual supplied at time of training.

Note:

  • Cracks are not guaranteed and must be repaired (stitched) before being covered over.
  • Three weeks notice must be given for training
  • When driving RE-NEW has all tools and equipment except for mortar mixer, water supply and hoses, wheelbarrows, shovels and barricades.

Training is provided for all types of concrete repairs such as:

Sidewalk resurfacing, snowplow damage and curb repairs

Steps, multi-level parkades, bridge overlays and sides, over passes, decks, patios, crack repairs, concrete water seepage, water tanks, swimming pools, and decks. (All overlays are salt-resistant.)

RE-NEW Surface Systems provides concrete sealers, colour, design surface stamps.
