Minton is located on hwy No. 6, the main route between Plentywood Montana, Regina and northern Saskatchewan.  Minton is just east of the infamous Big Muddy Valley in the heart of ranching / farming country, with oil wells and gas exploration.

Minton is a progressive small town in Southern Saskatchewan.  Other local businesses include a large Short Line Equipment dealership, Co-Op Service Station which also offers hardware and Vet supplies, a Municipal office, Insurance Agent, Credit Union, and the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool Chemical and Fertilizer Centre.
