Lake, SK In the southeast corner of the Province, you will find a plateau known as Moose Mountain. This is a natural landmark, and the poplar and birch forests provide refuge for moose, elk and other wildlife. The Saskatchewan Parks Act describes this park as "a large area representative of natural landscapes, providing high quality outdoor recreation opportunities. They include a wide range of natural and man-made attractions including accommodations, visitor services and recreational facilities developed in harmony with the natural environment."
During the winter months, the Park offers many alternative activities, including the Moose Mush Winter Festival. Cross-country skiing, snomobiling, ice fishing and snoeshoeing are all popular winter fare. Other favourites include ice skating, winter camping or simply enjoying a quiet walk amid the snow-covered landscape.
