Imperial Saskatchewan is centered
on the map, almost directly between
Regina and Saskatoon. At junction of Hwy's #2 & #747.
Imperial Saskatchewan is located in central Saskatchewan, approximately 137 km northwest of Regina, and approximately 147 km southeast of Saskatoon. Population: 400
Many of the early settlers were British. This fact becomes apparent when on examines the names of the streets. The main street is Royal and other street names include King, Queen, Prince, Duke and Duchess.
There is a government-operated summer resort 14 km southeast on Last Mountain Lake. Opportunity is provided for fishing, camping or visiting the adjoining village of Etter's Beach.
The Last Mountain Lake National Wildlife area is located a short distance away. Many species of water fowl and other birds including the Whopping Crane can be observed here.
The town's large library is used for craft displays, movie and slide presentations, traveling entertainers and a weekly "story hour" for pre-schoolers.
The town has many active clubs including the "50's & Over" and the Lions.
Imperial Volunteer Ambulance covers an area from Nokomis to Simpson, and from Simpson to Holdfast including all the surrounding municipalities.
The Imperial Fire Department covers an area including the R. M. of Big Arm #251 and the Village of Liberty.
Newer hospital, clinic, health centre and doctor (resident). Police, Drug store, Hotel, Shopping, Groceries and Service Station.
