I am a Chicago piano rebuilder tuner and mover. I rebuild Steinway and other fine pianos to your specifications. You get to choose color, tone and touch. I can refinish your old heirloom or you can choose one of the size and style you need from the large inventory we have on hand. I also have a limited amount of completely refinished Steinways for sale and ready for the movers to place into your home.

Background Information

When I was 12 years old I ended up living beside a man who was making his living tuning and rebuilding from his home. Those folks were a happy family. Dad was always there to see to the needs of his children and he and his wife were able to be together most of the time. I knew a good thing when I saw it and this was what I wanted. My first jobs were picking up garbage and keeping the place clean but gradually after much pleading I was allowed to do some of the more interesting jobs such as sanding, filling, taking things apart, fitting new parts and finally tuning.

As the years passed I had the pleasure of working with some of the best technicians in the area. As with most talented people these were tough people to work with. Most were not doing it for the money but for love of the sound and the beauty of the cabinet they were working on.

It is my hope to make the world a nicer place to live in by taking these old insturments and reworking them into magnificent pieces of furniture to grace the homes of those with the most discriminating tastes on the North Shore of Lake Michigan.
