ABOUT THE COMMUNITY:

     Pierson is a small rural village with a  population of approximately 230 people.  For a community of modest size, Pierson has not experienced the fate of many other prairie communities which have left the landscape.
     Pierson has survived and stabilized over the years, and continued to provide various services such as the municipal school, bank, and several other businesses which service the local farming community.  In addition to agriculture, the local economy is strengthened by a significant oil industry which currently provides about one third of the local tax base.
