The East Kootenay Motel is a very busy Motel through the summer and winter months. 80 - 90% of all rooms are booked solidly 10 months of the year. Approximately 50% booked in May and October. Suites are larger and provide table and chairs, air conditioning, fridges, microwave ovens and 27" television sets. Rates are very reasonable.

A living suite is also included. This has one large bedroom, living/dining area, newly renovated bathroom, full kitchen and office area. Recently installed flooring and carpetting.

Buildings are gas heated, and there is never a shortage of hot water. Outside patio area has incredible views of the Ghostrider Mountain and the Three Sisters Mountain. A hot tub is currently under construction.

The property includes a 42 seat restaurant which is currently under lease at $800 per month. The lease remaining on the restuarant is 3 years. The property also leases land to a fruit truck which comes once per week, and to a fish truck which comes twice per month. The East Kootenay Motel provides an area for the hunters to hang their deer and elk in hunting season.

Expenses, including utilities and taxes cost $32,000 in 1997.
