Local Sports, Local News
and Local Events

Wynyard, Saskatchewan

Wynyard Banner
Facilitator and Access Directory

Moved heading into table.

Local Sports...

Here we can have all the local hockey scores and when the next games are being played etc.

Pictures of all the local sports teams would be a good feature.

Need to be sure that there is enough information to keep this section full enough to support the number of advertisements listed on the left and right columns.

See next the February 3 issue of the Wynyard Banner to read about how the new Regulations on Farm Storage of Chemicals could affect you.

Local News...

As the heading reads up top, so should the information that is in this centre panel.

Local Events...

A list of all the events scheduled for the near future on top

Now we can have some commentary on the events that just happened.

We have an interview with the new principal of Wynyard Elementary.  Read all about it in the February 3 Wynyard Banner.

The fire Tuesday evening at the Johnston farm burned the car shed. Fast action on the part of the Wynyard Fire Department kept it from spreading to the adjacent machine shed and equipment.

E-mail a letter to the editor of the Wynyard Banner for publication online and in the newspaper. Letters must be in good taste and we reserve the right to edit as necessary.

If you can see the font, I made the Wynyard Banner a more "newspaper" type font.  I would suggest making a graphic for this so that everyone would see the heading (as it appears on the paper... should be the same style font).
When buying, selling or leasing property the easiest fastest and most economical way is through www.pin.ca
This section for people who have put on websites through the Facilitator. This will include a hotlink* to their website.

*NOT to their actual website, but to a bookmarked link on the listing that would take the viewer to the advertisers link off the listings page.  People should not be able to totally bypass the main listings.
Your ad could go here.

This is the section for advertisers in the paper. Anyone who takes out more than just classified advertising on a regular basis gets a free box as in this section (no pictures)

no pictures, but a logo should be allowed as I would imagine most advertisers would really only be interested if their logo were included.  How does that coffee magazine handle this?  Do they have business card sizes?

each spot in these outer columns will have something in them... depending on complete content, some allowance needs to be kept for white-space... but at the same time, the page can not look empty.

We are setting up our server so we could give out a login and password to anyone. On a portion of our server the client would be able to update his own website yet still not be able to get at our sites.

My newspaper guys could help us find a local person (facilitator) who would teach people to download the software and make up a simple website. (10 hours including driving time) Cost to client $200 - $400 or whatever the traffic will bear. (extra hours at $28 per hour) Monthly fee thereafter is $20 - $40 per month. As well as server fees the $20 - $40 per month could include a line in the local paper advertising the website, an advertising spot on the local sports and coming events Internet page with a live link back to clients website. Keep in mind this local content website would be a live link from any of the real estate sites we have in the area.

Facilitator would be the person who updates the local content website once we have it up and running.

Below you see how the advertising for local websites might appear in the newspaper.

Local Content Websites

www.pin.ca/sabri Check out Omar's restaurant. Chef Omar will show you some real treats and the noon buffet at $5.95 is a real bargin. The writer strongly recommends the nann bread. View complete menu on the Internet.

Split on income could be 50% facilitator, 25% newspaper and 25% for Eric

We could run an ad in the local paper and find the facilitator on our own if we were not already dealing with the local paper.

The Facilitator with advertising they receive from our site and the newspaper, could pick up 5 clients a month at $300 per client. (300 x 5 =$1,500 plus an ongoing income of 5 x $40 =$200
1/2 for the Facilitator = $750 plus 1/2 of $200 = $100 per month in residual income.

In order to qualify for the residual income the Facilitator would have to meet some expectations such as keeping the Local Information Website current, keeping up the technology, a positive attitude and getting out and working hard at getting accounts.

Newspaper would get $75 from each new $300 account and 25% of the residual income.

Eric would receive $75 from each new $300 account and 25% of the residual income.

I believe this situation would be win win win win for everyone, the newspaper, the facilitator, the client and last but not least Eric.  (and some pennies for debby?  please?)  =)
