Dale Collins
Born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, he began playing at
age 6 on a twelve dollar guitar, purchased from a
neighbor. By age 14 he was writing and recording demos,
as well as studying bass and drums. While attending high
school (The same high school as Pursuit of Happiness
member Mo Berg), DALE found opportunities to do talent
shows, T.V. apearances and his first paying gig.

With 30 years playing guitar...
over 2500 live performances... and credits ranging from
composer to producer; the word "Guitarist" is a
somewhat understated description for this artist.

At the earliest opportunity Dale started touring, which soon
led to opening gigs for recording acts like PRETTY ROUGH and
JENSON INTERCEPTOR, as well as studio work.
Since moving to Victoria, BC in 1985, Dale has been constantly
involved in the music industry...Some of the hi-lites include:
headlining the 125th Birthday Celebration for the CITY OF
VICTORIA ; headlining the CANADIAN BIKER MAGAZINE "Toys for
Tots" Toy Run; mixing sound for the VICTORIA JAZZ FESTIVALS;
mixing monitors for BILL BRUFORD; and producing the E.P.
"TUNED..NOT WIRED" for VICTORIA recording act LONDON
TIMES .
In 1996, DALE teamed up with lead vocalist BERNIE SHAW of
URIAH HEEP, to form "IN TRANSIT". The band did only a
few select shows before BERNIE' S return to England and the URIAH
HEEP tour schedule.
Those few shows would see the development of a working
relationship between DALE and BERNIE; and in 1998 they would team
up again...this time to record for DALE 's CD, "PICKING
LOCKS ". The CD features some great tracks including the
song "HEY JIMI", written as a tribute to HENDRIX.
Dale's other project , which is based here in
Victoria , is SLEEPING DOGS LIE . They are planning for the
release of their debut album in 2001.The band includes former
Rocktoria recording artist Trevor Richardson , Don Restall on
drums ,who has performed with Bernie and Dale, Darien Martay on
bass,and Dale Collins on guitar.
