Watson is located 100 miles east of Saskatoon and 120 miles
north of Regina, at the crossroads of two major highways, No.
5 and 6. Watson is a quiet friendly community which boasts a
good location for starting a business, raising a family or
retirement. The weather in Watson ranges from 15C - 30C in
the heat of the summer and +5C - -40C in the winter. Watson
offers a crime free environment having its own Municipal
Police Service in the community since 1918.
Watson has a present population of 884 people. The trading area consists of approximately 7,500 people all within a 25 mile radius. The economic base is agriculture which is complemented by many industrial and manufacturing firms and all lines of business are represented. A canola gathering station has just been built on the outskirts of the community.
Watson is also situated within minutes of excellent waterfowl hunting at the Quill Lakes which has been named the Quill Lakes Western Hemisphere Shorebird Reserve Site.
The Town of Watson offers primary and secondary education programs, including Kindergarten to Grade 12. The recreation facilities in Watson include, artificial ice arena, three sheet curling rink and bowling lanes. McNab Regional Park offers a quiet campground, outdoor swimming pool, playground, sprinkler pool, 9 hole golf course and tennis courts.
