The name is taken from seven shallow graves that were found near this site during the construction of the railway.

Sunridge Observatory - Located approximately 20 km west of Medicine Hat, Alberta on Highway #3, watch for signs on right-hand side of Highway #3. Open to the public on the second Sunday of every month from 8-11 pm. Run by the Medicine Hat Astronomy Club (which meets the first Thursday of the month at 7:30 pm). Contact: 527-3764
