FOR SALE
MANAGEMENT CONSULTING SOFTWARE
$92.00
I have been in senior management for 38 years,
and for the last 16 I have run my own
(California Based) management consulting practice, consulting with small and medium-sized companies (clients
throughout the country). I finally have decided to retire. Now you can benefit
from my collection of information. If you own your own business and want to
improve it, grow it, or sell it, this information will be invaluable to you. This
CD has a section on Valuation of Businesses.
Businessmen: "How to
re-organize a small business to accommodate for increased growth and increased
profits." It shows you how to do it as a businessman and/or as a consultant –
how to identify the problem(s) and how to fix the problems.
This is an invaluable tool for any businessman – not just a "what to do" but
also a "how to do" based on real cases and experiences. There is no theory here
– just the tools to identify the problem(s) and the tools to fix the problems.
Businessmen: As your company grows the typical entrepreneur encounters cash flow
problems ("Oh, if I only had some extra sales I would be ok."). The truth
usually lies elsewhere; as sales increase there are more sales costs, more
pressure on inventory supply, added personnel, more equipment, etc. Indeed, with
a 40% markup, you may have to do as much as $500,000 in additional sales to net
$100,000. The answer usually doesn’t lie in more sales – the answer lies in
re-working and/or re-organizing your business to accommodate lower expenses,
accounting for higher net profits. A more streamlined business nets more
dollars; less chaos means more profit.
This CD addresses this problem as the main issue: "How to re-organize a small
business to accommodate for increased growth and increased profits." It shows
you how to do it as a businessman and/or as a consultant – how to identify the
problem(s) and how to fix the problems.
I am selling the files needed to operate a
complete consulting practice (more than 2000 files - enough to fill over 52
(3.5") diskettes - all categorized and cross-referenced in specific folders - but they
are all on one CD). Since I was actively working my own projects through May
2005, these files have been continuously updated and expanded. Additionally, I
have added files that are from others (consultants) that have been sent to me
since my retirement - there is a "community" of consultants who keep
in touch with each other and help each other. On July 7, 2005 I ADDED some
incredible files given to me by a former partner and co-consultant. These are of
the highest quality and have made the CD better than ever before!
These files are ALL you need - of course you
will customize them for the particular client, but 99% of the work has been done
for you. These work with ANY type of client - manufacturing, service,
professional - any type of business. You decide what type of file or procedure
your particular project needs and then just search for it in the files (there
may be several versions of similar files). Then just alter the file slightly as
needed for your particular client.
Also, I am including files that show you how to
place the service (how to get clients) and how to analyze a potential client's
needs (this helps in selling the project and in determining the scope/size of
the project - both for determining the hours needed to complete the project and
for billing purposes).
The
latest upgrade was in July 2005.
Most files are in MS WORD and MS EXCEL. The
excel files have all formulae set up - just plug in the numbers and it's done.
There are a few files in allCLEAR 5.0 (flow charts) and a few in OrgPlus
(organization charts). Organization charts can be done in Excel, and there are
cheaper flow charting programs available if you feel you need them.
I
have letters of recommendation from former clients (on their letterhead) that
I shall fax to you upon request.
I have taught/sold this complete system in
week-long classes, charging $2,100 for the week. My most current fee to clients was $210-225 per
hour (based on the type of project). You would not charge this much at first,
obviously, but even at $85/hour you should be able to bill 1,500 hours the first
year. Clients pay all expenses in addition to hourly fees, so everything you
bill on an hourly basis is net to you.
Here is a list of what you will find on the CD:
LISTING OF FOLDERS ON THE MANAGEMENT CONSULTING
CD: Here is a partial listing of the folders on the CD. There are other
individual files (not in folders) as well, for I collect lots of management
consulting "stuff" when I see it and when I assess, it could be of
value to a consultant.
-
Introduction. Actually there are several
introductions dealing with different aspects of what you need to do, how to
act, what to say, etc., including a file that is titled "READ THIS
FIRST." You will see that this CD "walks you through" the
entire process of being a Management Consultant, starting with this folder.
-
Files from 16 separate projects. This
shows you what was given to the client and how it was organized by and for
you, and for the client. Also allows you to see the similarity of the
organization of a project - no matter who the client is or what the industry
is. Thus you will automatically know 95%+ of what should be included in every
one of your projects
-
Sales. All files relating to showing a
client how to increase sales
-
Seminars. The complete files on how to
hold a seminar, what to do and say, etc (to attract clients), including
advertising information. Seminars are the most effective and least expensive
method of getting clients
-
ROI. A folder on discussions re Return of
Investment (also helps a client determine the validity of his business)
-
Recommendations. A large collection of
recommendations used in projects - for form and for content (how to make a
recommendation, what must be in it - and what not to do - as well as the
actual recommendations themselves). The recommendations will also show your
clients how much money they will save and how cost-effective to them your
project is
-
Organization Matrix. A tool used to show a
client what needs to be fixed, to impress him re your abilities, and to be
used by you as a checklist throughout the project
-
Project Cost Management . Keeps you
organized
-
Rates and Estimates (how to assess
the length and the cost of a project)
-
Job Bidding System. Used for contractors,
etc., to show them how to estimate a job, and why so many who don't know this
system lose money on jobs that they bid
-
IT Consulting. "Donated" to me
by an IT Consultant. I have never used this information, personally, but if
you intend to solicit IT consulting work you will need this.
-
Client Presentations
-
Business Form Letters. Good to use by
themselves or as a starting point; thus 99+ of all business letters you will
need are here and done for you
-
Business Plan and Financials. Shows you
how to do business plans and what information is needed from the client to
complete a business plan
-
Employee Handbook. Almost 100 pages of a
complete handbook you can use/modify for a client
-
Financial Pro
Formas. So you have the
forms necessary to use - just fill in your client's numbers and it is done for
you (formulae are already set up)
-
Internal forms. Invoices, expense sheets,
contracts, etc. (no need to hire an attorney)
-
IBCS Consulting. Again,
"donated" to me by other consultants who use this "style"
of consulting. This is a very lucrative type of consulting
-
Bookmarks and Open Source Information
-
Ads for Consultants (when you need to add
consultants to your staff - or when you have multiple projects and have to
"farm out" some work, while retaining a percentage of the fees)
-
Collections Process. A COMPLETE system to
show/help your client bring in past due dollars (everything that's needed is
here)
-
HR. COMPLETE HR system - this system,
alone, has sold for thousands of dollars to past clients. Includes everything
- even interview questions
-
Brochure samples. Just replace my company
name and address with yours and your brochure is done
-
Brainstorming Sessions. To help you with
"sit downs" with your client
-
Analysis. The COMPLETE system for a 3-5
day analysis of your client and his needs - to assess needs, and as a sales
tool to show the client why he needs to have you do some consulting work. Many
people make a living just doing these analyses ($500-$5000) for 3-5 days of
work.
-
Consulting Files (a-z). These are ALL the
consulting files ever used, including, but not limited to, dozens if not
hundreds of job descriptions, etc. All of the MS Word files can be found in
this folder (so you don't have to search for them through the other folders -
these are arranged alphabetically)
-
Consulting articles. These can be given
to your clients for "homework" or for discussion points at the next
day's meetings. Just pick out the ones that are relevant to your client's
problems. These are also used to get your client more involved in the project
and to make him feel he is a part of the process
-
Excel Files. Like the Consulting Files
folder, this is the collection of all Excel files used in one convenient
folder - this helps you find the file you need quickly. Even
if you currently own a business - these files would be invaluable to help you
improve your business. Think of this as a "mini MBA" (that's what
one one my clients called the finished project).
