The GE Motel has been in the Nielsen family since shortly after it was built around 1960. Today it is Hardy and Jerrilynn Nielsen who are ready to let the family business go to a new family
The Motel is a frame structure with an asphalt shingle roof and stucco exterior, placed on the property in an elongated U-shape.
There are 18 units of three different sizes. All units are self contained, consisting of a combination kitchen-dining area-living room, with a separate bedroom and bath. These are conrete sidewalks in front of the units and grassed in non traffic areas.
At the center of the property is a two story, one bedroom, one bath, frame house with a full basement which houses the boiler and hot water for the units and the house. The main floor of the house has been completely renovated and consists of

                                                                                               a kitchen and

livingroom, dining room area.

As well as the office
On each side of the motel there are 5 medium sized units, approximately 19'x14'. In each of the two corners are larger units 19'x19'. In between are 6 smaller units 12'x14', and a utility room of the same size.

Each unit is wired for it's own private telephone and cable.

The motel property also contains a maintenance and storage shope approx. 24' x 28'. It is also a frame structure with asphalt roof. It has two steel lift up doors on the street side. the high pitched roof provides space for a large attic second story storage area accessible by a pull down folding staircase. The shop is heated by a small naturl gas furnace and has adequate power for all types of shop tools. It contains racks and metal shelving for staorage as well as work benches.
The present owners have extensively renovated all the units including repainting, re flooring, replacing shower stall and bathroom fixtures and general upgrading of appliances and furnishings. The motel roof was replaced with new asphalt shingles approx. 8 years ago. Most of the winows and doors in the units have been replaces as well as all exterior storm doors. the fence around the entire property was replace in 2001.

A great deal has also been done to maintain and upgrade the hot water heating system. The gas fired boiler is in good condidtion and should last well into the future.
